Aesop launches line of candles

Aesop, the Australian brand synonymous with upmarket hand soaps and care products has expanded into aromatic candles. It has released three candles crafted by its longtime fragrance collaborator – Barnabe Fillion.
The candles are said to be inspired by the cosmos, each one named after ancient astronomers. Aganice was the first female astronomer of Ancient Greece, renowned for her knowledge of the moon and its cycles. The scent is said to evoke the atmosphere of Tangier through Cardamom, Mimosa and discreet notes of Tobacco.
Callippus, is famed for refining the planetary theory of his time in ancient Greece and the candle is ‘redolent of ritual in its inclusion of Frankincense, Guaiacwood, and fresh notes of Shiso.’
The final candle in the collection is inspired by Ptolemy, an ancient Greek-Egyptian astronomer whose work informed much medieval astronomy. Its scent is reminiscent of an ancient forest via Cedar, Cypress and notes of Vetiver.
All three candles are formulated with vegan friendly ingredients with each 300g candle offering a burn time of between 55 and 65 hours.
